"I've been doing hardwood floors exclusively since right around 2001. I was taught by an old Swede who was also taught by an old Swede, so I named my first company 'Old Swede Flooring'. The skills and tradecraft that he shared with me is the reason why my work is as sought after as it is".
That was almost twenty years ago now. I still approach each job with the same focus and intensity as those first days. He would secretly check my work by looking in the corners of the closets. His reasoning was, if you're gonna skimp, that's where you're gonna start. He would prejudge a room by the condition of the closet. So I still regard closets as just 'small rooms'.
One of the primary reasons I work by myself is that I don't usually like the way anyone else works. It's easier for me to do it myself where I can guarantee the completeness of the job, than to turn it over to someone else and have to go over everything again anyway.
Yes, by myself. Sure, you may run into a helper if I have to move furniture or pull carpet, but the important work is all done by me.
